Lutheran extended the longest winning streak in Big Northern - West this week by beating Mendota, 56-13. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Stillman Valley led the league in scoring this week after putting up 63 points on Rock Falls.
Rock Falls' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rockets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jacob Mammosser has thrown for 1493 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Steven Armoska has 27 catches for 546 yards. Brendon LeBarron leads the league in rushing with 317 yards.
A big matchup in Big Northern - West this week will be when Byron takes on Lutheran. As it stands, the Tigers are in third, while Bruce Bazsali's team is in first.
Byron made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,676 from 2,874. The improvement was the result of 41-14 victory over Oregon last week.
