The Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 38-7 loss at the hands of North Cobb. Kennesaw Mountain has struggled against North Cobb recently, as their contest on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Kennesaw Mountain still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Tatum, who rushed for 90 yards on only nine carries.
Kennesaw Mountain's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Walton and 7-3 Harrison (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67.5% over those games). As for North Cobb, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennesaw Mountain will take on Wheeler at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wheeler presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kennesaw Mountain in Georgia (Wheeler is ranked 70th, while Kennesaw Mountain is ranked 202nd). As for North Cobb, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cherokee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cherokee is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
