Basketball Recap: Clear Falls Comes Up Short

If Clear Falls was feeling good fresh off their 64-19 takedown of Brazoswood last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Clear Falls Knights were dealt a 58-26 loss at the hands of the Clear Creek Wildcats on Tuesday. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Clear Falls still got an impressive performance from Kyndall King, who posted 16 points and five rebounds. King's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Shepherd, who put up four points.

Even though they lost, Clear Falls smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Clear Falls has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Clear Creek, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clear Falls will take on Clear Springs in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clear Creek, they will host Clear Brook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clear Brook will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Clear Creek surely won't give up without a fight.
