Mark Morris is 2-8 against Ridgefield since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Monday. The Monarchs will venture away from home to  challenge the Spudders  at 4:30  p.m. Both teams are coming into the  contest red-hot, with Mark Morris sitting on  28 straight  victories dating back to last season and Ridgefield on five.
On Friday, Mark Morris made easy work of Hockinson  and carried off  a  17-2 win. The Monarchs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven  runs or more this season.
 Makenzie Henthorn and  Shyanne Sellers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Henthorn   pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. Meanwhile,  Sellers   pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Henthorn has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. At the plate,  Henthorn  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI, while  Sellers  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. That  triple was  Sellers' first of the season.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Paisley Fraidenburg, who  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, four  runs,  and three  RBI. Those  four  runs gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Megan Fugleberg, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with two  runs and two  RBI.
 Mark Morris was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .320 or higher in 11 consecutive  matchups.
Meanwhile, Ridgefield got the win against Columbia River  on Friday by a conclusive  13-7. Considering the Spudders have won six contests by more than five  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Casey Lehnertz and  Charlie Harris did most of the damage at the plate:  Lehnertz  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and one  double, while  Harris  went 1-for-5 with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI.  Abbey Hite was another key player,  going 2-for-5 with two  doubles, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Mark Morris pushed their record up to 15-0 with the  victory, which was their 13th straight  on the road dating back to last season. As for Ridgefield, their record now sits at 12-2.
Monday's   game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mark Morris hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .430. However, it's not like Ridgefield struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Mark Morris skirted past Ridgefield  4-2 when the teams last played  back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Monarchs since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
