The Bath County Chargers pushed their score all the way to 66 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a rough 92-66 loss at the hands of Narrows. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bath County in their matchups with the Green Waves: they've now lost eight in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Bath County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Andrew Turner. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Turner has scored all season. Luke Turner was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Bath County now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Narrows, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bath County will take on the Fighting Blues at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parry McCluer knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 matchups -- so hopefully the Chargers like a good challenge. As for Narrows, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Maroons at 3:15 p.m. on February 3rd. George Wythe will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
