It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Idabel Warriors had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-28 victory over Kansas. Idabel's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Matrail Lopez was his usual excellent self, rushing for 172 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also picking up 39 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Waylon Phillips, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown.
Idabel's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Kansas, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
Idabel will square off against Millwood at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Millwood is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 11 games. Kansas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
