After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sterling, the Milby Buffs were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Galena Park by a score of 51-41. This was payback for Milby, who suffered a 46-37 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Milby was led to victory by Daniel Cantu and Jacob Carrizalez. Cantu scored 11 points along with seven rebounds, while Carrizalez scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Kobe Brown was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Milby's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-18. As for Galena Park, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season.
Milby will be playing at home against the Apollos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sharpstown is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Galena Park, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Waltrip's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten contests.
