In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mati Hughes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maddie Rose, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI.
Castle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 29 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Castle pushed their record up to 12-11 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Evansville Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
