Mountain Ridge is a perfect 4-0 against Corner Canyon since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Sentinels will square off against the Chargers at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mountain Ridge has ten straight victories, Corner Canyon has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Mountain Ridge nor Copper Hills made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Sentinels put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 10-1 win. The Sentinels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Sydney Lambert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Chloe Tycksen and Mya Ordiway did most of the damage at the plate: Tycksen went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Ordiway went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Ordiway has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Van Renselaar, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Mountain Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Copper Hills struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Corner Canyon's offense. They lost 10-0 to Bingham on Tuesday.
Mountain Ridge pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Corner Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.
Corner Canyon's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Mountain Ridge has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Corner Canyon, though, as they've been averaging only 3.1 strikeouts. Will Mountain Ridge keep running through batters, or will the Chargers buck the trend?
Everything went Mountain Ridge's way against Corner Canyon when the teams last played back in March, as Mountain Ridge made off with a 15-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sentinels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
