Quest Charter Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Deer Creek-Mackinaw 60-58. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Quest Charter Academy also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Despite the defeat, Deer Creek-Mackinaw saw an underclassman step up: Jerry Hahn dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. Max Eccles was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 4 steals.
The victory got Quest Charter Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Quest Charter Academy is on the road again on Saturday and play against Sherrard at 2:00 p.m. on November 25th. Sherrard presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Quest Charter Academy in Illinois (Sherrard is ranked 44th, while Quest Charter Academy is ranked 412th). As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eureka at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
