It was a good run, but Wahconah Regional unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Lenox Memorial Millionaires. Wahconah Regional was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Lenox Memorial work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-10, 25-21.
Taea Cunagin paced Wahconah Regional's offense, picking up 18 kills. Cunagin got some help from Melaina Haczela and her 27 assists. Cunagin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lenox Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emily Barenski, who had 17 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Barenski has posted since back in September. Evelyn Julieano was another key player, getting six kills, five aces, and four digs.
Wahconah Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Lenox Memorial, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
