The Cajon Cowboys's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. The game between Cajon and Beaumont wasn't particularly close, with Cajon falling 56-40. While losing is never fun, Cajon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 628th, while Beaumont is ranked 172nd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beaumont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vince tracy Capuras, who scored 21 points along with eight steals. Another player making a difference was Adrian Farias, who scored 19 points.
Cajon has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Beaumont, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6.
Cajon will be playing in front of their home fans against Redlands East Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Redlands East Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games. As for Beaumont, they will head out on the road to face off against Yucaipa at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Yucaipa has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
