Lehighton and the Panthers are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Lehighton Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panther Valley Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lehighton is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
Last Friday, Lehighton beat the Cardinals 58-45. Given Lehighton's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Cardinals are ranked 635th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Panther Valley might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 63-43 to the Blue Raiders, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Panther Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lehighton's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Panther Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.
Lehighton strolled past the Panthers when the teams last played back in January by a score of 68-53. Does Lehighton have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
