Softball Recap: Catoctin Has No Trouble Against Clear Spring

Catoctin put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Clear Spring Blazers as they made off with a 14-0 win. Considering the Cougars have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kassidy Kreitz made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Kreitz was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bralyn West, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Aubrie Courtney, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Catoctin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .531 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Catoctin's record now sits at 4-1-1. As for Clear Spring, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Catoctin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Williamsport on the 4th. As for Clear Spring, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-2 loss against Brunswick on the 4th.
