While it was all tied up 24-24 at halftime, the Pine View Panthers were not quite the Desert Hills Thunder's equal in the second half on Thursday. The matchup between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Pine View falling 57-40. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Desert Hills: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Pine View saw an underclassman step up: Reese Gustin scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Gustin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Adrianna Adams was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Pine View's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Desert Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine View will play host again and welcome Snow Canyon, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Desert Hills, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cedar at 7:00 p.m.
