After flying high against the Walkertown Wolfpack on Tuesday, the Lexington Yellowjackets came back down to earth. Lexington fell just short of East Davidson by a score of 51-49. Lexington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East Davidson apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Lexington lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Tay Bostic. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Bostic scored 15 or more points. Lily Ervin was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Lexington bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for East Davidson, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lexington will face off against South Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Davidson has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20. As for East Davidson, they will head out on the road to face off against Providence Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
