Melbourne Central Catholic put another one in the bag  on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Heritage Panthers with a sharp  8-2 victory. The Hustlers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

 Ryder Widick was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out 13 batters over  6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits. Those 13  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Jayden McNamara was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.  Thomas Gonnella was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
Melbourne Central Catholic's record now sits at 3-0. As for Heritage,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
 Looking ahead, Melbourne Central Catholic will be taking part in a tournament against Satellite  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Heritage, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Vero Beach  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday.
