Everman is 5-0 against Polytechnic since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Everman Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Polytechnic Parrots at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Everman's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Polytechnic has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Last Friday, Everman was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-34 to Arlington Heights.
Even though Polytechnic has not done well against South Hills recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Polytechnic blew past South Hills 37-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Polytechnic has posted since November 16, 2023.
Polytechnic can attribute much of their success to Sofia Castro, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Castro continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tyra Ray, who scored two points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Everman's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-11. As for Polytechnic, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Everything came up roses for Everman against Polytechnic in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 43-13 win. Will Everman repeat their success, or does Polytechnic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
