The biggest upset of the week belonged to Washington, who took down 283rd ranked Memphis Academy of Health Sciences, 24-21. Patrick Franklin threw for 143 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Jerome Gilkey III and Troy Davis provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Memphis Northside. The connection was good for 88 yards, the longest such play in A District 16 this season.
Westwood's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Gilkey III threw for 158 and two touchdowns and Davis had 88 yards receiving. On the ground Davis chipped in 154 yards. Nikia Cathey helped Westwood's passing attack out by catching one ball for 35 yards.
Westwood's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Longhorns feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ri' Card Broadnax has thrown for 538 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Brandon Harrison has 10 catches for 311 yards. Zephaniah Young leads the league in rushing with 880 yards.
Cathey of the Longhorns ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against the Cougars last week. Cathey's team bested Memphis Northside as he sprinted for 89 yards on the play and finished with 89 in all.
