The Diboll Lumberjacks won the last time they faced the Hemphill Hornets, and things went their way on Friday too. Diboll blew past Hemphill 76-51. Diboll pushed the score to 58-30 by the end of the third, a deficit Hemphill cut but never quite recovered from.
Diboll got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jadarian Kennerew out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Kennerew is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Latavian Forney, who scored nine points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Diboll is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season. As for Hemphill, they dropped their record down to 11-13 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Diboll will stay at home for another game and welcome Pineywoods Community Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Diboll has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 256 points over their last four matchups. As for Hemphill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
