Yazlin Rodrigues spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Alyvia Sifuentes-Parker was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sienna Rios, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newark Memorial). They never let Irvington get on the board and left with a 25-0 victory on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Caitlyn Rose was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with six runs, five RBI, and one double. What's more, she posted four hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Newark Memorial got a massive performance out of Cadence Benner, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Benner has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Zoe Hanohano, who went 2-for-3 with four runs and one RBI.
Moreau Catholic's record is now 2-4. As for Newark Memorial, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Newark Memorial's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Moreau Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. It's a different story for Newark Memorial, though, as they've only averaged .248. Will they be able to contain Moreau Catholic's hitters?
Moreau Catholic came up short against Newark Memorial in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, falling 9-4. Can the Mariners avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
