The Navarre Raiders will face off against the Tate Aggies at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Navarre and Gulf Breeze have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Raiders came up short against the Dolphins, falling 13-6.
Kayden Riddle put in work no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Riddle was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Natalia Taylor was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs while going 3-for-4. Nadia Rivera was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tate, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Escambia on Wednesday as they made off with a 9-2 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Aggies as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Like Navarre, Tate also got a great game from a two-way player: Peyton Womack. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Womack was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Kara Wine was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Madison Smillie, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Tate hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Escambia struck out eight times.
Navarre's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Tate, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
Navarre was able to grind out a solid victory over Tate when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 7-4. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Aggies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
