Berthoud extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 6-9 in the process. They came up short against the Roosevelt Roughriders, falling 16-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Roughriders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Monday.

Wyatt Barmes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Berthoud: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-8 otherwise. Caleb Lettieri was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.
As for Roosevelt, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
On Roosevelt's side, Brady Mylander made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Mylander was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Wyatt McNerney looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Kayden Bryant and Luke Unruh did most of the damage at the plate: Bryant got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Unruh went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Unruh a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Sauer, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Berthoud has already played their next game, a 13-3 victory against Greeley Central on the 26th. As for Roosevelt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-4 win against Thompson Valley on the 28th.
