The Rampart Rams pushed their score all the way to 65 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arapahoe. It was the first time this season that Rampart let down their fans at home.
Rampart's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Wyatt Kirch, who scored 16 points, and Myles Chavarria who scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that Kirch scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Theodore Wilson, who scored eight points.
Rampart struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Rampart's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for Arapahoe, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Rampart will head out on the road to face off against Discovery Canyon at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Discovery Canyon is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games. As for Arapahoe, they will be playing at home against Regis Jesuit at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
