Honey Grove came tearing into Tuesday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Dodd City Hornets with a sharp 17-2 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Brody Mahan and Andrew Finney made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Mahan tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Finney pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mahan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances. At the plate, Mahan got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and two doubles, while Finney got on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most RBI Mahan has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Honey Grove got a massive performance out of Kendal Wolfe, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Wolfe has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Freeman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one stolen base.

Honey Grove hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dodd City struck out seven times.

Honey Grove pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Dodd City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Honey Grove has already played their next matchup, a 6-1 loss against Collinsville on the 17th. As for Dodd City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 17-4 defeat against Whitewright on the 17th.
