Howell and Canton are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Howell Highlanders will head out on the road to challenge the Canton Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Howell posted their closest victory since January 5th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Plymouth out 44-41. Given Howell's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Plymouth is ranked 418th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Canton waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 69-62 victory over Salem. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Canton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bradley Eziuka, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Pierson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Howell's record is now 10-7. As for Canton, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3.
Howell came up short against Canton in their previous matchup back in January, falling 48-44. Can Howell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
