Walkerville had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-35 win over the Crossroads Charter Academy Cougars on Wednesday. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Crossroads Charter Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Coulter Kasbohm, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds. That was a full 42.9% of Crossroads Charter Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Remmey Carnes was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

Walkerville's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Crossroads Charter Academy, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Walkerville will look to defend their home court on Friday against Grand Traverse Academy at 7:30 p.m. As for Crossroads Charter Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Bear Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
