They secured a 55-50 W over Waccamaw on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Carolina Forest also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Zech Gardner was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 14 points along with three blocks. That's the first time this season that he posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Allen, who scored 11 points.
When it comes to explaining why Waccamaw lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyrese Haynes. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Haynes continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sutton Cooper, who scored eight points.
Carolina Forest has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-8 record this season. As for Waccamaw, they bumped their record down to 4-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Carolina Forest will take on Loris at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Loris is ranked 115th, while Carolina Forest is ranked 138th). As for Waccamaw, they will be playing at home against Andrews at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
