Redwater is 2-8 against New Boston since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Redwater Dragons will be playing at home against the New Boston Lions at 6:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Redwater's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while New Boston has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Last Tuesday, Redwater strolled past De Kalb with points to spare, taking the game 62-43. The victory was just what Redwater needed coming off of a 93-45 loss in their prior match.
Redwater's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Carson Wheat, who scored 18 points along with four steals, and Tyris Crowell, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 21 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Wheat scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Brody Johnson, who scored four points.
Meanwhile, New Boston was beaten by Hooks 99-47 on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for New Boston in their matchups with Hooks: they've now lost eight in a row.
Redwater has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. As for New Boston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
