The Miyamura Patriots will head out to face off against the Bloomfield Bobcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Miyamura is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Miyamura proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Aztec 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted against the Tigers since April 19, 2022.

Xavier Brown was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Miyamura is 4-1 when Brown posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikki Torres, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-5.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They never let the Chieftains get on the board and left with a 25-0 win. Give the Bobcats' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Trae Woods was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Bloomfield got a massive performance out of Johnny Yates, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave Yates a new career-high. Kannon Ashton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Bloomfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 28 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
The victory got Miyamura back to even at 9-9. As for Bloomfield, their record now sits at 14-5.
Miyamura suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to Bloomfield in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
