Stone's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cleon Johnson Jr., who posted 17 points along with five boards and three steals. Johnson Jr. is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jabari Moye, who had 13 points and three steals.
Meanwhile, Resurrection Catholic had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They breezed past the Hornets to the tune of 84-29. With the Eagles ahead 62-17 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Resurrection Catholic's win came from a few key players Stone will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was TYRESE RICARDO, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. GIAN VERA was another key player, going 10-for-24 on his way to 22 points and seven steals.
Resurrection Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.
Stone's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Resurrection Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Stone has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Resurrection Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 36.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
