Joliet West is 8-2 against Plainfield South since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Joliet West Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Plainfield South Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Joliet West will be strutting in after a victory while Plainfield South will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Joliet West earned a 57-48 win over Joliet Central. The victory was just what Joliet West needed coming off of a 79-39 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Plainfield South came up short against Romeoville on Tuesday and fell 51-39.
Plainfield South's defeat came about despite a quality game from Destynia Mcgruder, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Mcgruder scored a full 30.8% of Plainfield South's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Mezewich, who scored 6 points.
The losses dropped Joliet West to 2-4 and Joliet Central to 1-5.
Joliet West strolled past Plainfield South when the teams last played back in January by a score of 74-57. Does Joliet West have another victory up their sleeve, or will Plainfield South turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
