Kora Ingle made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lizzie Wilson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Olivia Wilson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
McMichael kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Western Alamance's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cedar Ridge on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
With the defeat, Western Alamance broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-5. As for McMichael, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. McMichael has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Western Alamance struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went McMichael's way against Western Alamance in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as McMichael made off with an 8-2 win. Will McMichael repeat their success, or does Western Alamance has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
