Sylvania and Ider are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Rams will host the Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Sylvania had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Pisgah on Monday. The Rams put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 10-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.
The team relied heavily on Lucas Buttram, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Mattox, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.
Meanwhile, Ider made easy work of Midfield on Saturday and carried off a 17-2 win. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 15 runs or more this season.
Rylan Wheeler was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Axl Williams, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Ider always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .720. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Sylvania's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Ider, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Everything went Sylvania's way against Ider in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Sylvania made off with an 18-3 victory. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
