Chambers Academy and Macon-East Montgomery Academy are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Chambers Academy Rebels will head out on the road to take on the Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Chambers Academy will be strutting in after a win while Macon-East Montgomery Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
Chambers Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Oaks and snuck past 54-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Chambers Academy.
Meanwhile, Macon-East Montgomery Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a rough 52-26 defeat at the hands of Hooper Academy. While losing is never fun, Macon-East Montgomery Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while Hooper Academy is ranked 145th).
Chambers Academy's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Chambers Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-32 loss to Macon-East Montgomery Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Chambers Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
