The Lorena Leopards entered their tilt with the Franklin Lions with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Lorena came out on top in a nail-biter against Franklin on Friday and snuck past 52-49. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Braylon Henry was his usual excellent self, rushing for 255 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Henry hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games. Collin Hill also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.
Lorena's win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.2 points per game. As for Franklin, their loss ended a 22-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-1.
Lorena will take on Troy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Troy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while Lorena is ranked 192nd). As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to face off against C.H. Yoe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
