On Monday, WISH Academy came up short against New Designs University Park and fell 37-24. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points WISH Academy has scored all season.
Despite the loss, WISH Academy still got an impressive performance from Keith Hartman, who scored eight points.
New Designs University Park can attribute much of their success to Agustin Garibay, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. The game was Garibay's third in a row with at least ten points. Brady Cerrato was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
WISH Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for New Designs University Park, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
WISH Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Burton at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Burton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for New Designs University Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Alliance Bloomfield at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
