East Bernard is 0-10 against Hitchcock since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The East Bernard Brahmas will head out on the road to square off against the Hitchcock Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
East Bernard posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They blew past Hempstead 65-21 at home. Given East Bernard's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 645th, while Hempstead is ranked 1367th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
East Bernard got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashlynn Lemos out in front who scored 18 points along with five assists and three steals. Lemos has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Malaya Thomas, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Hitchcock humbled Danbury with a 89-23 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hitchcock.
East Bernard is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for Hitchcock, their win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4.
East Bernard might still be hurting after the 63-42 loss they got from Hitchcock in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can East Bernard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
