The LaBrae Vikings entered their tilt with the Grand Valley Mustangs with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. LaBrae narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Grand Valley 55-52. 55 seems to be a good number for LaBrae as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
LaBrae got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ella Kuszmaul out in front who scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Mariah Jones was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
LaBrae's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Grand Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LaBrae will take on Crestview at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Crestview will roll in looking for their 22nd straight win, something LaBrae surely won't give up without a fight. As for Grand Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Windham at 6:45 p.m. Windham will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 605th, while Grand Valley is ranked 281st).
