Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Bluffton Pirates, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 17-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbus Grove on Friday. Bluffton has not had much luck with Columbus Grove recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Trenton Barraza was his usual excellent self, rushing for 163 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Barraza is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last ten games he's played. Landon Best and his 81 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Columbus Grove's victory.
Bluffton's loss dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Columbus Grove, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Bluffton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Columbus Grove is on the road again on Friday and play against Versailles at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. One thing working in Versailles' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four games.
