Baseball Recap: Leipsic Sets Scoring Season-High Against Arlington

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leipsic). They never let the Arlington Red Devils get on the board and left with a 21-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Aaron Hazelton was incredible, going 5-for-6 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mill Paniagua, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs.

Leipsic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Leipsic is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Arlington, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Leipsic will challenge Columbus Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Arlington, they will square off against Upper Scioto Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
