The Calumet New Tech Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 83-77 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kankakee Valley. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Calumet New Tech lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eric Allen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Allen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of John Hudson, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Camden Webster continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kankakee Valley, almost dropping a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Webster pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brady Sampson, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Calumet New Tech has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Kankakee Valley, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calumet New Tech has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Boone Grove at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Calumet New Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Kankakee Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hanover Central at 7:00 p.m.
