Elmore County hasn't had much luck against Montgomery Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Elmore County Panthers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Montgomery Catholic Knights at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Elmore County is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Valley. Elmore County blew past Valley 16-5 on Wednesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Lalah Culpepper made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Elmore County got a massive performance out of Addison Hicks, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave Hicks a new career-high in runs. Kayden Edwards was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Montgomery Catholic and Alabama Christian Academy, and Montgomery Catholic kept the tradition alive. Montgomery Catholic came out on top against Alabama Christian Academy by a score of 4-1 on Monday.
Jennifer Looney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.
On the hitting side, Peyton Dees and Rylee Wilcoxson did most of the damage at the plate: Dees went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI, while Wilcoxson scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Montgomery Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.
Elmore County was able to grind out a solid win over Montgomery Catholic when the teams last played back in March of 2022, winning 4-0. Will Elmore County repeat their success, or does Montgomery Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
