Charlie Nigut's Big Game Leads Elizabeth Forward over Southmoreland
Starting off the list is Elizabeth Forward's Charlie Nigut, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Nigut rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 52 receiving yards.
If the past is any indication, Nigut could be in store for another big game when he takes on Mt. Pleasant on Friday. Nigut rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 39 receiving yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Vikings duked it out back in October of 2023.

While Elliot Premus delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Southmoreland. Nobody could stop Premus as he picked up 59 receiving yards.
With the defeat, Southmoreland broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2. Their road trip will continue as they head out to face Greensburg Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Aj Grese Turns in Season-Best Performance
Elizabeth Forward was led to victory by Aj Grese, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Grese picked up 87 receiving yards, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
For the season, Grese has averaged 42.3 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after nine games last season, he was only averaging 18.89 receiving yards per game.

Ty Whoric Makes It Two for Southmoreland
The second Southmoreland player making an appearance here is Ty Whoric, and for good reason. He picked up 45 receiving yards.

Shaffer Came Up Big in Yough's 37-8 Defeat
Rounding off our Top Five is Aidan Shaffer of Yough. Shaffer picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 65 yards.
Shaffer and Yough will be playing in front of their home fans against Derry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will pit Shaffer up against the Trojans' star pass catcher Damauri Robinson. The only thing left to do is find out who's the greater deep ball threat. You'll have to watch the game to know for sure.
