The Sheridan Blackhawks will venture away from home to challenge the Taylor Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sheridan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
Sheridan is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Purdue Broad Ripple: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Sheridan blew Purdue Broad Ripple out of the water with an 85-36 final score. With the Blackhawks ahead 44-21 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Sheridan's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trey Page, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 19 points. The contest was Page's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Devon Hamilton, who went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points in addition to six boards and five assists.
Sheridan was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Taylor ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Riverside, sneaking past 47-45. The win almost wasn't to be: the Titans were down 25-11 in the second quarter.
Sheridan better focus on containing Javionne Harris and Drey Mcclatchey as the pair were huge in Taylor's win. Harris dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Mcclatchey posted 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mcclatchey has scored at least a third of Taylor's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyshawn Galloway, who earned seven points and five boards.
Sheridan's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. As for Taylor, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-1.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's game: Sheridan has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38.6% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Taylor, though, as they've only made 26.5% of their threes this season. Given Sheridan's sizable advantage in that area, Taylor will need to find a way to close that gap.
Sheridan and Taylor were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but Sheridan came up empty-handed after a 46-45 defeat. Can Sheridan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
