Leto is 8-2 against Blake since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Falcons will host the Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. Leto has given up an average of 13.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Leto lost 19-4 to Sickles on Tuesday. The Falcons have struggled against the Gryphons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
Nadia Vega was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
Meanwhile, Blake hadn't done well against Freedom recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 15-10.
C Hobbs made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Hobbs was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, Blake got a massive performance out of J Feliciano, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Z Newton was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
Blake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in February.
Leto's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Blake, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Leto has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .472. However, it's not like Blake struggles in that department as they've averaged .475. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Leto might still be hurting after the 16-2 defeat they got from Blake in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
