CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. - the War Eagles had a big 35-point first quarter on Saturday, sealing a 56-0 victory over Trinity Christian Academy (Deltona, Fla.).
Wakulla scored on a touchdown run by
Dillon Norman, a
Caleb Stephens touchdown pass to
Demetrius Lindsey, a
Markel Rawls touchdown run, a touchdown run by
Malik Thomas and a touchdown pass by Stephens to
Keith Gavin in the quarter.
WHS was up 50-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Norman in the first quarter.
With the win the Crawfordville school extended its winning streak to eight games. The War Eagles defeated the Bulldogs 37-14 last week.
Wakulla's standout player in the win was Lindsey. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.
WHS had given up an average of 13.7 points prior to the contest. The Eagles came in surrendering 17.6 points per game this season. Trinity Christian Academy struggled against the War Eagles' offense, which entered the game scoring 37.1 points per game.
A 42-14 Wakulla victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Trinity Christian Academy defeated Florida Air Academy 23-7 last week. The loss snapped TCA's 2-game winning streak.
Wakulla (8-0) goes up against Godby in a 5A District 2 game matchup next week, while Trinity Christian Academy (5-3) locks horns with St. John Lutheran in a 2A District 3 game.
