Softball Recap: C.B. Aycock Has No Trouble Against Southern Wayne

C.B. Aycock barely beat Southern Wayne the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Golden Falcons were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over the Saints on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Golden Falcons, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

C.B. Aycock got a massive performance out of Caroline Howell, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave Howell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikayla Weaver, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

C.B. Aycock hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five strikeouts batters in six consecutive contests.

C.B. Aycock now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Southern Wayne, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. C.B. Aycock will welcome Cape Fear at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Colts' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Golden Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Southern Wayne, they will challenge Smithfield-Selma at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
