Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Downingtown West Whippets walked away with it. They had just enough and edged the Cougars out 17-14. The victory was nothing new for Downingtown West as they're now sitting on three straight.
Downingtown West's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Quinn Henicle, who punched in a rushing scores, and also threw for 185 yards and a touchdown.
Downingtown West's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Downingtown East, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-1.
Downingtown West is on the road again on Friday and play against Central Bucks South at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Central Bucks South: 13.2, Downingtown West: 14.3) so any points scored will be well earned. Downingtown East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
