Even though The Halls Red Devils have not done well against the Knoxville Central Bobcats recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Halls enjoyed a cozy 52-34 win over Knoxville Central. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Halls' nine-point performance the match before.
Kameron Bates was on fire: he rushed for 265 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Harlan Hunley also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dante Strickland, who picked up 194 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Strickland was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 61 yards. Daniel Sackie also helped out as he racked up 109 receiving yards.
Halls' victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Knoxville Central, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Halls will be staying on the road on November 3rd to face off against Morristown-Hamblen West at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Morristown-Hamblen West will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Knoxville Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Sevier County at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Sevier County will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
